Nardello & Co. welcomes Rana Feghali as its Middle East Practice Manager
An investigator and business intelligence analyst, Rana has lived, traveled and worked in the UK, US and throughout the Middle East. She is fluent in Arabic, French and English, and has extensive experience in conducting investigations in the Middle East, the Gulf States and North Africa including a wide-range of pre-transactional due diligence and investigative projects.
Rana managed hundreds of investigations in the region in her prior position for a London-based risk management consultancy. These investigative projects included a wide range of pre-transactional due diligence, FCPA and internal investigation projects, litigation support matters and asset tracing. Her clients include financial services firms, oil and gas producers, corporations and government organizations.
Previously, Rana was an investigative journalist at several Arabic newspapers, including Asharq Alawsat. She reported on business and political developments in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region. Rana received her undergraduate degree from the American University of Beirut and a Masters degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. She began her career at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.

On March 15, Lord Peter Goldsmith and the Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States, addressed a seminar on Managing Cross Border Criminal Liability. The seminar was hosted by Nardello & Co and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in Milan. The focus of the seminar was on defending and protecting corporations against criminal liability as they work and compete in jurisdictions with often conflicting and complex laws and regulations. Sessions addressed the role of self regulation in deterring fraudulent and criminal conduct in the jurisdictions of Italy, the UK and US and their cross-border implications. Further sessions were held on the consequences and actions to take as a result of a failure to self regulate. The seminar concluded with a session on the use of corporate governance and compliance as vehicles for the protection of the corporation.
