Managing Director Joseph F. Thompson brings to his work 24 years of experience as a federal narcotics agent who led multi-agency law enforcement operations in prominent international investigations of illicit drug trafficking, money laundering, and drug cartels. Most recently, Joe served for three years as the Drug Enforcement Adminstration’s Country Attaché at the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. Before that, he commanded the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and served as a liaison agent in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. During his first decade with the DEA, he led seizures of multiple tons of heroin and cocaine, including an investigation that led to the indictment and conviction of high-level Taliban members for heroin distribution. Before his federal service, Joe was an officer in the New York City Police Department, where he was assigned to the Manhattan South and Queens narcotics units as an undercover officer.
