Max Cawdron is a Managing Director and Head of Nardello & Co.’s London office. Max has over fifteen years of experience advising corporations, private equity firms, financial institutions, and law firms, providing investigative and business intelligence services. He has led a range of fraud, integrity due diligence, and general corporate investigations in diverse business sectors, including gaming, construction, real estate, retail, media, finance, telecommunications, technology, hotel and tourism, and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Nardello & Co., Max was an independent consultant, where he advised corporate and private clients. Notably, he provided litigation support for a bank pursuing damages through arbitration for harm resulting from the actions of the national banking regulator.
Previously, Max served as Managing Director at K2 Intelligence in Madrid and then in London from 2010 to 2018. While in London, he was responsible for business development and management of cases in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, including an anti-corruption investigation for a European energy company, an investigation into two foreign nationals in the UK accused of defrauding an overseas state-owned financial institution, and litigation support for a US distressed debt fund.
Max also served as Head of Business Intelligence & Investigations at Kroll Associates in Iberia, where he helped grow the business and led due diligence and investigations. In the beginning of his career, he worked as a technical translator for Mancera Ernst & Young in Mexico City and served as an editorial manager for Macmillan Publishers.
Max has a BA in Hispanic studies (1st class honors) from the University of Bristol, where he was also involved in postgraduate research into Spanish medieval history and undergraduate teaching. He also trained as a translator at the European Commission in Brussels. Max is bilingual in English and Spanish and works in Portuguese and French.
