Prior to joining Nardello & Co., Wendy was a partner and US general counsel at a UK-based investigation, due diligence, and ESG consultancy, where she led the firm’s cybersecurity and global investigation practices. She also advised the firm’s leadership and U.S.-based teams on legal and compliance issues and business strategy.
Wendy was co-founder and principal of a Los Angeles-based investigation consulting firm, where she led the firm’s cyber practice and advised clients on data breach and cybercrime response, information security, digital forensics, and intellectual property protection. Wendy also previously led the West Region practice of an international cyber risk management firm.
Wendy served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles for almost eight years. In that role, she led investigations and prosecutions of computer intrusions, extortionate denial of service attacks, computer and internet fraud, criminal copyright infringement, theft of trade secrets, cyber exploitation of victims, financial fraud, and identity theft. She also prosecuted major drug trafficking, money laundering, and gang-related offenses.
Among her notable cases, Wendy was lead counsel in the first criminal trial involving violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and supervised an international investigation involving nation-state-sponsored computer attacks against healthcare companies. She prosecuted the operator of a “revenge porn” website, which is the subject of the Netflix documentary “The Most Hated Man on the Internet”.
Wendy began her career as a litigation associate at Proskauer Rose LLP, where she focused on white-collar criminal defense matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, securities, bank, and accounting fraud, tax offenses, and money laundering.
