Nardello & Co. was retained by a multinational law firm, which was receiving threats from a former intern who had been denied employment at the firm. The former intern sent letters and emails to the firm, which claimed that he would publicize alleged wrongdoing at the firm and by its principal, including claims of sexual harassment and discrimination.
An investigation of the former intern revealed that the client was one of many entities, including other former employers that had been the victims of similar threats and correspondence. A threat assessment was made of the former intern, which included input by former FBI profilers. Although it was determined that the former intern was not a physical threat to the firm and its employees, appropriate security measures were implemented at the firm’s offices.
