Prior to joining the firm, Edgar worked for almost two decades in the Mexican federal government, including the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Police, and the National Security Commission. He was assigned to Washington, DC as a Diplomatic Agent, where he was the lead liaison officer to the international law enforcement agencies in North America. Throughout his career, Edgar developed an extensive global network in various fields, such as law enforcement, technology, forensics, and international investigations.
During his years as a Federal Agent, Edgar participated in several international mechanisms such as the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism, the Inter-American Council for Integral Development, and the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing and Trafficking of Firearms, Explosives, and Ammunition.
Among the various projects that Edgar coordinated with international law enforcement agencies, some of the most impactful were: The Criminal History Information Sharing Program, the Cooperation Concerning Biometric Immigration Information Sharing Program, and the Information Sharing Program on Special Interest Aliens.
Edgar’s career is distinguished by numerous notable responsibilities, including President of the Latin American Police Attaché Association (APALA) and member of the United Nations Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security.
Before his public sector experience, Edgar worked as a lawyer, focused on corporate law, criminal litigation, and intellectual property. Among other cases, he assisted the Business Software Alliance in investigating private corporations using unlicensed software, to pursue legal action against them.
